Using Guardian Guide

Guardian Guide is a free, independently run trial service for adults seeking care information in England. It is not currently operated by a company.

What the service does

Use Guardian Guide to organise questions, understand common care terms and prepare for discussions with councils, the NHS, care providers and qualified professionals.

The information is general. It is not medical, nursing, social-work, legal or financial advice. Guardian Guide does not diagnose a condition, assess mental capacity, decide funding eligibility, approve a discharge or decide what care a person needs.

Important decisions

Care law, council arrangements, contacts, fees, availability and regulator information can change. Check important information with the linked official source and the organisation responsible for the individual decision.

Guardian Guide is not an emergency service and does not monitor answers. Call 999 if someone is in immediate danger. For urgent medical help that is not an emergency, use NHS 111. Contact the relevant council for urgent adult-social-care or safeguarding concerns.

Using the website responsibly

Do not submit unlawful, threatening, deliberately false or identifying material. Do not include another person’s private or medical information in a review or recommendation. Do not interfere with the website, attempt to enter its protected administration area or copy substantial parts of its original content without permission.

Reviews

Reviews must describe a genuine experience of Guardian Guide. Submission does not guarantee publication. We may check, decline, redact or remove a review to protect privacy, comply with the law or keep the page relevant. Private recommendations are not published.

Availability

This is an early trial. We may correct, change, suspend or withdraw features. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility where the law does not allow it to be excluded.

No paid service is currently offered. Separate consumer information and terms will be introduced before any payment feature launches.
